Bowens is a favorite local haunt famous for its fresh local seafood, graffiti-covered walls, fantastic waterfront views, and live entertainment. Seafood may be James Islands’ claim to fame, but it’s not the only game in town. Mondos is a popular local favorite for authentic Italian cuisine that offers indoor and outdoor dining. 
 
James Island also offers several excellent venues for entertainment. The Pour House is a hip and lively bar and entertainment venue that showcases live music acts, and it has become a trendy venue in the Charleston-area nightlife scene. James Island is also where you’ll find the iconic Terrace Movie Theater, an award-winning independent theater that offers a fantastic mix of modern films, classics, and Indy films.
